1956 FORD F-100 CUSTOM CAB PICKUP C-768 This 1956 Ford F-100 Custom Cab Pickup was a dream project for the previous owner and builder. Purchased for $500 in 1978, this truck has undergone a complete frame off restoration, starting in 2001 and leaving no detail untouched. This prompted it to be featured in in “Classic Trucks” Magazine (see photo). There was over $79,000 put into this project to build this truck and we have receipts that come with the sale of the marvelous engineering wonder. One refreshing feature is this Ford is equipped with a FORD engine, unlike many custom jobs today. The 390ci Ford V8 was bored .080 over to push displacement to 406ci. Heads are ported & polished. Includes TRW pistons and rings, Competition Cams Camshaft, lifters, & springs. Sitting atop the engine is the Edelbrock Performer Intake and Holley 600 4 barrel carburetor. The Mallory Uni-lite ignition system keeps her running smooth. Shifting is accomplished by the C6 automatic transmission w/ installed shift kit. To the back we have the hefty Ford 9 inch rear end. The truck has a throaty growl from the dual exhaust pipes w/ Flowmaster mufflers and Ford chrome tips. Kept cool by the 4 core radiator and transmission cooler, with the Perma-Cool High performance electric fan. A modern day essential, this baby has been outfitted with a Vintage Air Conditioning system, so those hot summer days will no longer be a problem cruising your new truck to car shows. To show off the well built engine is the installed “No Limit” tilt hood modification, which gives a custom look and feel. The exterior of the truck has been painted in PPG Chrome Yellow with numerous chrome and polished aluminum accents throughout exterior and engine compartment. The oak wood bed shines flawlessly. The interior is dressed in charcoal & graphite leather with a body matched painted dash. Interior features include: Autometer vintage gauges, “No Limit” polished aluminum gauge panel, Lecarra leather wrapped aluminum steering wheel, Ididit tilt steering column, Power windows, Power driver’s seat, Billet Aluminum interior door handles, and AM/FM/CD Player. The original frame has been boxed out for added stability. The front end has been replaced with a Kugel Komponents independent suspension setup, which includes rack & pinion power steering and A.V.O. coilovers. Braking power is provided by the Wilwood 4-piston power front brakes (rear drums) and adjusted by the Wilwood brake proportioner. Putting the power down the road is the American Racing “Salt Flat Special” aluminum wheels (Front: 16”; Rear: 17”) wrapped in Goodyear Eagle Tires.
